Ray’s Place Community Center has a heartbeat for our neighborhood. We offer a number of programs to empower families and our area.
What’s ours is yours
Our community space is for our programs and for other programs or gatherings our community desires. Volunteer with us or message us if you need to use our space for your even, programs, etc.
Reading, Gardening, Bikinge rides, and shared community space
We had a wonderful and fun end of fall semester Reading Program on Tuesday!
We're grateful for our friends Kali from heartshine and Ramona D. French for reading books about overcoming empathy, anxiety, and obstacles!
Reading programs return in late January at the church building: Linglestown Life at Rockville on N 6th Street. Continuing students do not need to re-register. New students and families can register here: raysplacehbg.org/weekly-literacy-programs/

Fee: $50.00 Resident / $60.00 Non-Resident
Our reading program is having its winter celebration before we break til late January tonight: 5-7pm. Our reading p will be hosting this across the street at the Linglestown Life church building! Drop your student off at the 6th street door.
Pizza dinner provided. Two local readers from our friends at Heartshine. And some fun gifts and books for kids to take home over our break.

This week when we are extremely thankful for our community partners, the families in our reading and bike programs, and all of our neighbors; we've made a video to celebrate!
Thank you to to our friends and family in the neighborhood and region, Linglestown Life, Susquehanna Township School District, HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg, Susquehanna Conference, The United Methodist Church, heartshine, American Literacy Corporation, Honey Bear The Dumpling Guy, Warrior Chinese Martial Arts and so many more. You've made our first 6 months of programs so full of joy and life!
We're also thankful and thrilled to share our vision for Ray's Place Community Center from Searcher Films. Please view and share with any families who could benefit partnering with our community garden, bike rides (back in March), and our reading program that starts back up with regular Tuesday night programs in late January.

Tonight: our last regular reading program is tonight from 5-7pm (for this semester).
We will have an end of the semester party on 11/30 with several guest readers from our friends at heartshine from 5-7pm.
We will return to reading programs in late January at our Linglestown Life Rockville Campus building across the street.
